Valentine's Day Solidarity for Haiti and Japan in Creole and Japanese

As part of our Markets of Hope initiative to support the recovery of disaster affected communities through commercial and shared profit initiatives, we will announce this Friday a collection of products with candid love messages on Haitian Creole, Japanese, English and Spanish.

Relief 2.0 Photo book

A picture is worth a thousand words and hopefully a photo book is worth a million hours of talk explaining and documenting efficient disaster response, solidarity and sustainable recovery with a focus on hope and achievements based on our field experiences in Japan, Haiti and field work in other countries.

Fukuoka Day 3:

Prof. Yunus Opens Event

Day 3 is getting rather exciting. 3 of the interns left at 5am on a long train ride to the disaster area to volunteer for disaster Relief in the flooded areas in Kyushu where more than 250,000 families are ordered to evacuate.

Meanwhile in Grameen House Fukuoka, Prof Yunus arrived and opened the event officially today. "Keep up the good work" Commented the Nobel laurette for Peace as he walks around the exhibit and understands what the event, "Tohoku Road to the Future: March 2011 - March 2012" is about.

Fukuoka Day 1

Day started well, brought the supplies to the airport and Vietnam Airlines allows me to carry 50kg of Medicine and Food to Fukuoka for Relief Work. I had called in advance and the manager was very responsive and we managed to get things through without any issues. I would like to thank Ben Teo from Vietnam Airlines to be so responsive and understanding.

Kadonowaki elementary

I am interested in running a 1 year after photo exhibit to share the situation on the ground 1 year after the Tsunami in Japan.

Some of the photos can be found here.

The purpose of this photo exhibit is to create awareness for the situation on the ground and to thank all of the people who have gave their support to the survivors.

Relief 2.0 - Japan Art Festival

All for one

I'm currently planning a project to bring art from the artists living in the affected areas in Japan to different parts of the world like NYC, Boston, Singapore, Taiwan and Mexico to help them sell their art and create awareness for the Relief 2.0 movement. One of the goals of this Art Festival is to change mindsets from donation based to one of conscious buying, which would give dignity to survivors who work and earn their own money and benefiting the economy in the disaster areas. I believe that this will accelerate the recovery process.
